Explorer LV - provisionally sold

Post by charleston14 »

Ndk Explorer LV
- very tidy

Yellow deck white hull
Good quality Blue decklines and bungees from Ndk.
Neoprene Spray deck and a cockpit cover
Rope skeg (un-kinkable), very comfortable Ndk foam seat.
Factory fitted full length keel strip
Circa 2004, in excellent condition for age with very little in the way of scratches to deck or hull, as I gave the kayak a cosmetic makeover recently.
Kept in a dry garage on a well padded rack

£875
Near Oxford

Photos to follow over the weekend.

Its a well built all rounder with good cruising speed, but I just paddle other sea kayaks more.

Note
Stated max paddler size is 5’6 but if you’re a bit taller than that you can use the foam blocks I’ve fitted to the bulkhead rather than the foot pegs.

Taken in the summer I’ll take some more recent ones too when it isn’t raining or dark

Hi Charleston, Is that an external skeg line? Does that take up much room in the rear compartment and does it impact how water tight that compartment is? Also what is the fitting on the left infront of the cockpit? Looks very smart.

Yes it’s a rope skeg that runs along the deck. It doesn’t take up any room in the rear compartment other than the small tube that connects to the skeg box.

The fitting in the deck is the old cleat for the skeg line. It’s in a silly place where you have to lean forward to operate it so I fitted a new camcleat near the hip.

Great, I was imagining that this had perhaps been sold already. I'd be interested in it, is it still in the condition these pics suggest? I'm new to the site how do we proceed?

The usual way is to send a PM with your email or phone number for further discussion & negotiation. To send a PM, on a computer use the Contact link on the right, on a phone tap their username to see their profile and there's a link there. PMs cannot be seen by anyone else. When you send a PM, it stays in your Outbox until they read it them moves to Sent.

Looks like a great deal! It's in excellent condition for its age and comes with some nice features like a neoprene spray deck and cockpit cover. Plus, the foam seat looks super comfortable. Overall, this kayak seems like a solid all-rounder with good cruising speed.
