Playboat Suggestion For Long Legs

Post by crazycanuck » Sat Aug 29, 2015 4:47 pm

Hi all,
I am looking to purchase my first kayak, however, I have awkward dimensions and was hoping to get some advice on boat suggestions and size. I am specifically looking for a playboat. I am only 5'6" (168 cm), but my legs have a 34" (86 cm) inseam, which is about average for a 6 foot (183 cm) guy. I weigh 154 lbs (70 kg). Any suggestions on make, model, and size would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance!

Pyranha S8 225 would fit you, it's "old skool" so long and slicey and 8ft long, it surfs super well and can cartwheel but has a bad reputation for splitting on its rails. More up to date I believe a pyranha molan medium, dagger g-force 6.3, pyranha jed medium (I'm 6ft 3 and can just squeeze in). Best bet is to just try before you buy. Also Robson Twintip at super squeeze and Robson blowfish is comfortable (the boat I have now) I've tried all these boats and felt relatively comfortable. The only issue is your weight to be able to playboat.
