Video editing for GoPro

Post by ARP »

I’m looking for straightforward video editing software for GoPro footage. Can any one recommend something that doesn’t cost the earth please?

Have you tried the one that GoPro does? I haven't used it much, as I never get further than copying the footage from the camera into the computer, but it is suppossed to be reasonably good.

I have tried but GoPro Quik but it seems limited. aaparently the old GoPro studio was good, but it’s no longer available

I think it’s a bit limited. I’ve been signposted to Shotcut and a couple of other free ones. Could be just trial an error to find one

I’ll have a look - I think I used this on my old laptop.

I love premiere elements, got it for a bargain price of £30. (that said I do have the full premiere pro but a very old version so was used to the workflows)

I can recommend Sony Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum Production Suite 11 (PC) - an old product, but still available for £33.99 on Amazon.

I find it relatively easy to use (considering the inherent complexities of video editing), it has more features than most non-professionals will need, and I don't think it's ever crashed on me.

Officially it's not supported on Windows 10, but it works fine for me.

I use it to capture still images for photos as well.

The excellent DaVinci Resolve is completely free if you don't need the extra advanced features.

I use iMovie to edit. It’s completely free and you can do transitions, cut down video, add text, music and pretty much everything else. This is my YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCLpciu ... _nE-U8jePg and all of the videos on there I’ve edited with iMovie.
