In search of Solent Cod

Post by The Shiner » Sun Nov 11, 2012 9:32 pm

Arrived at the No 2 Battery car park just before nine, and was on the water for around half past.
Met up with Grant (Skeletor) in the car park, so we paddled out together after a quick chat while I got myself sorted.
Met James (Overun) just as we were launching.

Paddled out, dropped anchor, it dragged, so threw it down again and it held this time.

There were loads of boats around, one that I drifted past had had a nice sized Cod "here we go!" I thought.

The fishing was really really slow for me, not even a Doggie!

Spent most of the day doing far too much of this...

A nice sized TBR saved a blank...

Apart from the fact that the fishing was slow for most of the people out today (or at least the ones I spoke to anyway), it was a glorious day to be out....

I think there was around 8 or 9 kayaks out today, no Cod for any as far as I know?

And just to rub salt in the wound, the father in law has just phoned me to say he's had two Cod off the Nab! (a 14 and a 17)
