Do you think this will mean that the Shiva will be on special offer, or they will do a more affordable 'club' version if they do a new creeker?

Ha, have seen it on facebook today, have heard whispers last week or so.

The photo ive seen seems like its a "Shiva like" Ammo rather than the old Ammo than was "burn like"

And pyranha have yet to release a creeker in "club spec" since the H3 rapid spec (unless you count the Kanarli Rapid and Club - but i dont count that as a creeker :P )

I'm sure there will be plenty of info coming out of the launch at Outdoor Retailer this week. The boat in the picture above is a prototype and I think there will be a few changes made before anything hits the shops.

The SCUD knew what it wanted to be... It's ridiculous, but it has no pretentions of being anything other than a toy and it does that really well...

The Nano and the Ammo before it both miss that mark, by failing to commit to the idea of making a 'willfully silly, outragiously fun' boat thats unique and specialist... Essentially, this is a short creekboat, which as anyone who paddled a CFS will know, was a paragdim with some benefits, but many more downsides.

I think I must be missing something here, something crucial, because I don't understand what this boat... well... is. From my (probably very narrow and limited) point of view, if I want a creek boat I don't want it to be playful, I want it to be predictable and safe. If I want a play boat, I want it to be short and playful, long and safe. And if I want a river runner to take on a club trip, I want something with not much volume, and a bit of length so I can have fun, without taking an age to paddle flat water. I don't see where the Nano would fit into this. Anyone care to enlighten me...

Looks like it will be a good OR show. There seems to be a lot of innovation and refinement going on in the industry right now.

New dagger playboat, wavesport creeker, new pyranha short creeker(looking forward to seeing the new outfitting very much), jackson creeker and playboat. I know IR have some new stuff coming out too.
I remember seeing Lendal having a really cool touring paddle last year, maybe they will be back in whitewater this year.

So much negativity here! I'm so glad the designers at the kayaking companies aren't as negative about trying new things and pushing the boundaries of what is considered the norm or we'd all still be paddling 4m fibreglass kayaks!

Give the guys a chance to decide where the "mark" is for the Nano, they've not even finished prototyping it yet, never mind launched it!

Being lucky enough to be in the position to recieve discounted boats from Pyranha, but also being a fan of displacement hulled boats for creeking, I was very much lloking forward to the Shiva... However, when the Shiva first came out I was really disappointed upon seeing pics of it... I thought it looked like it would be (for want of a better word) shiyte...

Now I've actually got to paddle one, I love it.. (still think it looks a bit odd though).

As Dan said, give it a chance, if it puts a smile on your face when you're paddling one, the designers have done their job :-)

Still I feel there is scope for a short creeker for low volume, and if that is what you have in your area, the Nano might be what you want. Currently the creekers have all been all forward, fast and lots of volume for easy riding through bigger stuff, not everyone paddles big stuff nor has it accessible, so cross over boats like the Nano or Axiom or Zen or Hero all have a place, so long as paddler enjoy using them. If not, then they do not sell, but like the original Hero or Ammo or Wizard, so is that a good idea poorly realised or just a bad idea. The Nano is Pyrnaha's second attempt at a sport creeker, although the Micro series is very much a sport creeker, so I suspect it will be an interesting addition to where the sport is going.
