A tri-athlete swimming in Island Lake in Minnesota, USA was attacked by an otter! It could have been ill, had rabies, or it could have been a female protecting her young. So if you see any otters - take care around them!

"Scottish Paddler' carried a story about them being on the River Earn last year, but I had no idea they were on the Leny. If they are colonising so quickly, they might become a common sight for paddlers. Credit goes to Don MacLean for spotting it.
