does anyone now of any decent alternatives to the Afon Ddu for gorge walking?
I have done one somewhere near the horseshoe pass near Llangollen but i was just a 'passenger' and didn't take much notice of where it was.

Re: Afon Ddu Gorge Walk/Scramble alternatives
Yes that could be the one, I will have a scout next time I am up there
what about the Trystion? near Cynwyd?
Also i have heard that PYB are not using the Afon Ddu anymore but using one next to it, they wouldn't let on which this was though
Thanks for your help

There is a great guide called "Scrambles in Snowdonia';
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Scrambles-Snowd ... 1852840889
that lists enough outings for years worth of 'too low to paddle anything' trips.
The black ladders on the Carneddau is worth an outing.

You're right - it's easy to spot fake Welsh as it never has enough 'f's in it!
