What the %@$(^&$@)^(£%^£*. Are these people all still alive? The main protagonist appeared not to be wearing a BA, which, given his liking for going under strainers, doesn't seem such a bright move.

Actually
Besides all of the glaring saftey errors and lack of experince.
It reminds me of the good old days where people went to to paddle and have a good time. Not worriying what people thought of them or not trying to act like some type of super cool pretencious paddlers that never smile.
good luck to them

You have to say they seemed to be having fun just bumbling along not knowing what to expect.

Did you notice the little walking bridge where the guy got pinned on, the hand rail disappeared so I assume he pulled it off trying to get out.

My sentiments exactly, Mark. First video I've seen in ages where people actually looked like they were really, shock horror, having fun...

Heaven forbid it should catch on. ;)

WWSR
Really pre 1997 ish the only place you could do a wwsr course was at hpp which involved swimming over a strainner. Before for that you simply had to inprovise or take climber kayking with you. we are so lucky in the advances of wwsr rescue over the past 15 years mainly thanks to the likes of franco ferrero and loel collins
this clip really reminds me of boating in the uk in the early 90s

I honestly really like the look of the river. Nothing like a shallow tree ditch to stiffen the sinews...

The videos from their overseas trips don't seem so fraught, although another of the same ditch includes one guy getting pinned under a snow bridge...
