Yep, loved that. GoPros do indeed rule! Looks like you had plenty of water. I love it when you catch a classic UK run at those levels.

On the basis that headcams tend to flatten out rivers it looks like you had quite a bouncy ride. Surprise Surprise looked meaty at the bottom and the back loop right at the end looked tricky. Good video.

I like it, headcam beatdowns rule. I thought you were going to flush straight away. Where does this sit in the levels given here?: http://www.ukriversguidebook.co.uk/inde ... Itemid=116 5?

It was a great level, was covering the 2nd step I think, not sure what that relates to on that guage?
It wasn't me that had the beating at the end, I snuck through just ahead, Jamie was the unluck one!

Now I can see what all the fuss is about having only run the Dart in low water. My prejudice still says that the Ogwen is better, but since my opinion is based only on watching a video perhaps I should hold judgement until I get a chance to run it at that level myself.
it's not a playboat, it's a river runner

That drop has managed to unseat a number of good boaters, it's a vicious eddy bottom right, far better to run it further left.

That was the intention! I just missed spotting the point to go left on the first run!

Cracking video, realy enjoyed that. Perfect amount of slow mo action and the right music choice to go with it, Gopro really is the bit of kit to have, the quality is brilliant.

Great video, thanks for sharing! I think we may have given one of you a lift back up to Dartmeet after your first run? We ran the West Dart first, which was bombing along, and at those levels pretty tricky with rocks and trees in all the wrong places. Or maybe I was just getting the wrong lines!

Three of my mates and a local paddler called John then did the Upper. Three of the guys got down okay but one of my mate’s Werner paddles are still up there somewhere (as posted on lost and found). If anyone finds them, he’d love them back!

Yeah, that was us. After fluffing a few lines on the West Dart I didn't fancy my chances on the Upper so headed to Newbridge and the Loop. As I arrived I thought I saw you jogging back up to Dartmeet after your second run? If so, I hope you got a lift!

Whenever I get the chance, I take off my helmet lick the lens and then dip it in the water and put it back on. Seems to work quite well...
I have tried the Rain-X stuff but found it wasn't as good.

I walked to just before Poundsgate, got a lift through poundsgate and just beyond, I then walked the rest of the way up to the top of the moor. Then I ran accross the top to the far side where I got another lift down to dartmeet! It took even longer than cycling it did a few weeks ago!
