Finally the footage we've been waiting for...

Post by jmmoxon »

Pete's posted this on SW forum, but I think Dartmoor's premier ditch bash deserves a wider audience:

6 is about an ideal level too :-)

My own memory of HW on the Okement is mainly of being a human strimmer...

As with all these films, it doesn't show the true gradient (450ft drop in 1km?)...until you look at the speed the bushes are whizzing past..

Can someone (braver than me) now post up headcam footage of the upper Plym?

Last time it took me the time Shackleton et al hiked back to the top to run the section again to catch my breath.

I'd forgotten how good that run is !! I just seem to have memories of knee deep mud, gorse bushes & numerous portages caused by trees in the river (& taking a while to find my car due to the impentrable fog when we came to get cars back afterwards)

Brilliant

Lost my boat on the lower section after the slides when I got caught up in a tree. Proper mental for me at 7 on the gauge. Pete was still having a bimble.

It's blocked in Canada to, any chance it can be re-published without copyrighted music - I would love to see the vid of this fun fun run!

Am loving the cameraman in just speedos standing in the river above the pit on the Egua.

East Okement, slide, tree, walk, slide, tree, walk, fall, fall, fall, walk, fall, slide, get out. It is brilliant.

Liking the helmet cam footage Pete.

Fantastic.Soundtrack is very good and chilled,i would have chosen something like "Flight of the bumble bee" ,maybe not very suitable for everyone else, but more like how i felt when i did it.

Really nice,

Should have a comment
"In 2012 the Government ban access to all rivers and Pete paddles the last one left open to paddlers"....

Strangely enough, looka like a games I am working on...
