Flying to Indonesia

Post by mickeyb »

Howdy Folks,
A couple of us are flying to Indonesia with Creekboats in a few months time.
Has anyone done this, do they know the best route, airlines etc,
Any details would be great?

Cheers,
Mickey

Cool. Whereabouts are you heading?

Have you got a blog, or are you just off for a bit of quiet exploring?

Emirates to Jakarta will probably be your best bet

We flew into Kuala Lumpur with Oman Air, then across to Medan with Air Asia (Asia's answer to RyanAir). Might be worth looking into KL flights as you'll probably find more carriers going that way, then hop across to Indo from there.

I flew Malaysia air... London - Kuala Lumpa - Denpasar, excellent service and decent value. That was a few years ago though so not sure what they would be like for boats now.

Depends where you are heading and what your plans are I guess, we were there for surfing so was a good route for us.

We'll be in West and North Sumatra,
Really looking forward to it.
Thinking we'll Fly to Luala Lumpar and then onto either Medan or Banda Aceh,

How are the different airlines with boats( creek boats ), hidden charges, cost per KG etc,

Cheers,
Mick
