Job for paddlers sort of

Post by Dave Manby »

The big deal of this job is that there is time off when it rains! (Well time off when it rains in North Wales - so if it rains Tuesday Wednesday we paddle and then work Saturday Sunday. But if it rains all November we don't have all November off!).

I have suddenly got a load of work in Shropshire (Wem and Nesscliffe) coming up in the autumn. I will be looking for builder type people to dig holes, dig up concrete, lift beams, mix mortar, mix concrete, and general labouring. So if you are interested and preferably have building experience (but not necessary). There maybe accommodation on site for some of the work too. The jobs will start in mid October/November.

Hi Dave, I could do with some work in October/November/early December. I go abroad in mid December and I'll need to take some days off here and there, so as long as its flexible and you don't need me after the 2nd week in December then I'd definitely be up for it. Send me an email at flint577@hotmail.com if thats sounds alright.
cheers
Dave

I've got a friend who is a builder. When he takes on anapprentice, he teaches them to paddle, then he has someone to paddle with when they get rained off a job. Always seemed like a great plan to me.

It reads 'slipped disk, hernia' to me.

Although saying that, my Dacron reinforced undercarriage should prevent the second of these.

Sure that some of Dave's previous labourers would be delighted to supply references - Al Ellard, Paul Wilson (aka Radar/Twill) etc. etc.

OK I have enough applicants - well too many - and so I will be whittling them down in the next few days. Also I have just sent off the final estimate and wait for the client (my brother) to reply as to whether he can afford all the proposed works.
