Northern Norway

Post by Tuomas »

Northern Norway seems to enjoy a bit of paddling frenzy with quite a many groups with established names in paddling scene getting to the goods of Hattfjelldalen, Mo I Rana and Saltfjellet. That is excellent as the white water in those areas is second to none. Our small group however ventured more than 500km north of other groups to in search of an adventure and new rivers. My friend and trusty paddling companion Mikael Lantto yearned to have new school approach to some of the unpaddled drops in the area. Here's a video of what we found:

Some sweet footage there. It gives a sense of the remoteness of the location.
You certainly new schooled a few of those falls.

What was the dead thing floating in the eddy?

Also I was waiting for the mandatory carnage section at the end and was a little disappointed. I guess you guys just don't make many mistakes ;p

Great video.
River Rambo or Paddling Hermit depending on the day!

The dead thing in the eddy was dead reindeer... There was actually three of them day before we scouted the drop.

I think there was plenty of carnage spread out in the video... some rolling and minor hits - I even snapped my blade in the end :)

Nice Tuomas, the Saltalen is great, more water is better, was up there in 2002, wonderful paddling.
