So Im injured and cant do anything so my brain is working over time. (as well as other things but thats for other websites to Know)
I'm Thinking of Kayaking in the Atlas mountains, Thing is i cant seem to find much info on rivers and lots of info on surf, I realise there are a few runs done and expeds run by canoe control and the likes.
My question is can anyone Link me to Information on kayaking done out there.
Popular runs
Rare Runs
Areas that are possibilities for exploration.
And times of year that would be appropriat.
Any Info would be appriciated.
Thanks
Rdscott
Expedition Time (Morocco)
Re: Expedition Time (Morocco)
My old uni club went out there at easter (best time of year to go afaik)... I didn't go, but their river notes are here: http://www.union.ic.ac.uk/rcc/canoe/med ... ver_Guides and their trip report/photos linked from there. If you post on their forum with specific questions I'm sure they'll be more than happy to help...

The Ahansel is a popular river that is paddled in Morocco. You can do it in a couple of days or I have even done it in a day before. We were in Morocco until May last year and there are a couple of massive trees in the river towards the end of the main rapid section. If its not too high, you can easily eddy out and walk around them. We plan to head out in late February and remove them, but thought it worth mentioning in case you go any earlier.

Re: Expedition Time (Morocco)
Check the winter snow fall because the year we went (1986) was the first year for 4 years that they had had snow and so there was water in some of the more esoteric rivers.
My favorite river was the N'Fiss south of Marrakesh also the Tessaout was a great two day self support run but you need a driver (and really a 4x4 in 1986).
I have scans of French guides - (on my other laptop) so if you want copies let me know - you have to be able to translate French. I sent them to someone else and they said they had a translator maybe the work is done .... ( can't remember off-hand who it was but they sent me a bottle of great scotch for my trouble in scanning all the information.
