Newark Wier Workin'Today???

Post by Sara83 » Tue Jun 09, 2009 10:18 am

Hi.
Does anyone know if Newark Wier is working today? Alternatively, has anyone got the phone number to check out water levels (environment agency/Trent Line?).

Cheers

Unfortunately that gauge has been broken for some time. It was definitely too high last night at 7pm. We went to Farndon instead, the wave was at a great level, but it was a massive pain to get back onto it either by walking or using a throwline.

Good news Phil, I'd guess the river was at about 2.5 - 2.6m when you were at Farndon then. If it's dropping then Newark should be in soon.

Anyone know if Newark weir is going today? The trent was quite high on Thursday and there was some rain yesterday. Has anyone been there? Maybe it is to high now?
