Last day for Sesia petition (takes 15 seconds)

Post by pete moss » Sat Feb 07, 2009 11:08 pm

A decision will be made on whether to dam the Sesia, Italy, 11th February 2009, so time is running out to add your name to the petition
http://www.petitiononline.com/ses_chi/petition.html
I'm currently living in Piemonte and the local paddlers and all of those who take trips to Italy would really appreciate 15 seconds of your time to add your name to the petition before 11th feb. Hope to see you in the Sessia valley spring-time.. Cheers, Pete Moss.

Signed. There were only 448 signatories when I signed - has the petition been going long?

Over 700 now.
This is a fantastic valley with some great paddling. it would be a travesty to see it disappear.

Here is a reply from the campaign, and for the Sesia Valley its good news, however for the Chiusella we are holding our breath:
We made it, but we're just half the way
The Sesia river tributaries are again protected by a law which will prevent any spoiling action against the Valsesia torrents; On the other side the Chiusella river situation is now in stand-by, with the official intent from the Regional Council of resolving the position within 20 days
The coordination of the two commitees continues its effort for reaching a complete restore of the protection law for the Chiusella too.

Thanks to everyone who came to Turin today, to everyone who signed the petition, and to those who helped us in other ways

The petition continues at: http://www.facebook.com/l.php?u=http:// ... ition.html
