I did consider trying to roll out but the thought of rolling back up still in it made me think bailing was better. I was knackered. In the end I was auto ejected.....Which was nice.

What level is that running on?
Only a ten l two weeks back the real funny bit was the instructor on the bank with his newbies about twenty of them saying what he was doing wrong lol.

Is that a real picture or edited (sorry - no good at these things!). It is just really pretty and I was wondering where it was if it was real...

Looks real to me. It's an overflow pipe in a reservoir.

I'm fairly certain its the overflow in Ladybower Reservoir.

Thanks guys. Shame the walkway around it has been dismantled as it would have been interesting to have a look.

I was just about to post the same spot.....

The mention of boats being pulled back from the harbour (and spat out in bits) is included the Irish whitewater "guide" book......

Why on earth would you build that?

At the back of a harbour!!

Is it to keep non-local skippers from mooring anywhere near it?

One day the authorities will wake up to the fact that these things exist and make it illegal to build them. In the meantime I can only assume that the hydrologist responsible designed it in the days before anyone even realised they might be dangerous.

The rivers in the vid look absolutely fantastic - love the necky boof-or-die-down-the-centre at the end.

Tuomas and co are certainly pushing the envelope in Sweden! I had a good rock out to that video. His mate had a lovely rinsing. I wonder which god he was praying to whilst in there.

As for the video clip in Ken's link. Where the hell is that?

It's towards the end of the Zaire / Congo River. Largest volume rapids on earth. Probably dammed by now, or soon will be- massive hydro project on the way, bigger than China's Three Gorges. Good riddance to those evil rapids I say!

Beaver River NY state

Post by River Honey »

This is a link to quite a trashing in the first rapid on the Beaver river NY.
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=dXi1MfURMgg

The story behind the video, is the guy who gets the trashing is paddling alone, and can't roll very well...not very bright!!

At this same river last year Si and I got involved in a rescue at that sme hole after a couple He ran it clean, She got stuck in the hole.. he valiantly paddled back into the hole to rescue..both of them got stuck and took quite a trashing...

The Hole is called talking to Jesus..
