The £4.99 Paddle bag

Post by waverley610 »

Just picked up a £4.99 ski-bag from Lidl and my two paddles fit easily inside; you even get a choice of colours, snazzy or what?

They are black with coloured carry handles, trim and piping; red, yellow, blue, etc. Velcro ties at each end for a snug fit.

Link is dead as it's an offer from a week or so ago, but plenty left in the store I went to.

I bought 4 last year and dished em out to my paddling buds as crimbo pressies (cheapskate!). Mine is still going strong after 12 months of use - what a bargain.

I bought a couple yesterday. They are 210cm long - hope that helps.

yup that does.

two more questions:

how many paddles could you comfortably fit into one and what is the height/width of the bag?

oh yeah, and what's the branding on them?

been surfing ebay and there's loads of cheapy bags available might buy one from there instead of going out to the shop. the ones I've seen are made by Ski-Team.
Or this one pops up a lot:

Thats the Lidl one.

I've comfortably managed to fit 3 paddles in, should fit another one easily.

Safe, no having to go out and look. But now I have to price hunt =/

Are the three paddles you fit of the same feather, box2k2?

I have fitted 4 paddles comfortable into the Lidl bag. 3 x 45deg feather and 1 around 60deg feather. The 60 deg feather paddle is also about 2m long. The bag is not heavily padded but does an excellent job. Well worth a shot!

Cheers

Does anyone know how high the bag is when folded down flat? ie from the bottom seam to the top zipper.

Eh. I got the ebay one.

For GBP 14 including P&P.

But I probably would've spent at least that in travel expenses just looking for one...

Or so I'll keep telling myself.

(the club's paying for it anyway. Don't tell the captain)

I bought one in Lidl only to discover it's too short for my paddle (I know, I should have checked before buying it!). So if anyone can't get to Lidl I'm happy to sell it on for £4.99 plus postage (and I'm sure postage won't cost £7 which is what the ebay seller was charging!). PM me if interested.

Buy Fiona's.

Used mine over the weekend, was grand. Shoved five paddles of different feathers in, was a tight squeeze (couldn't do up the zip all the way) especially lengthwise but the longest only went up to 204. So. I doubt anything over 208 will fit. Certainly if you want to fit more than one.
