I thought that slander was the written form of libel…

Oh well. I had to chuckle when the owner of the establishment decided to pump this thread right back to the fore.

Nope, slander is spoken, libel is written.

You know what they say about no such thing as bad publicity?

I stayed there once....!
....It was the last resort as all the other places around Bala were full (apart from this one for some reason).

Next time I'll probably sleep in the car!

I wouldn't recommend this as a friendly place to stay.

That's what I thought. I didn't know about this until now, so thank you very much for bringing it up again 7 years after.

Guess Captain Stella might have been behind the wheel when it was posted at 10.17 pm... ;)

Good idea, here's a couple for starters: Crap as Black Beak, Baa Backs Crap Elk.

Anyone stayed here recently? Is it ok? or are the complaints old ones?

I think the comments are a bit harsh, we stayed here a couple years ago on a club trip and yes Stella was a bit regimental with organisation but it worked extremely well at a cheap price, we paid extra and she cooked for us all, that was excellent and very good value.
She was extremely helpful and witty with a dry sense of humour, I found it best to have a laugh with her and I wouldnt hesitate to return.

I stayed there last year. I found the labels quite amusing and had some ideas for extra labels where she'd overlooked a couple of things ;)

Stella is a bit anal but she does have a good sense of humour, and likes a hug. I didn't trust the fridge though.
