I am looking at a ww trip to one of these countries.
Probably January because of work. Has anyone know if that will be a good time to go?
Also can anyone recommend any good companies to go with?
Cheers
Iain

Re: Chile or Costa Rica
Depends how much holiday you have - CR if only a week, Chile for 2 or 3.

Re: Chile or Costa Rica
Thanks Mike. Probably 2 weeks in total.
When you say 1 week in Costa Rica is that because there aren't that many rivers?
Chile could you cherry pick and spend say a week and half there or is it a reasonable amount of travelling to/between rivers?
Do you know any good websites etc to use for research?
Cheers,
Iain

Plenty of rivers in CR, but getting around them is easier. These guys run trips, mostly boulder gardens:

In Chile the main centres are big volume on the futaleufu, or waterfalls around pucon:

Alternatively there is Ecuador:

I haven't done trips with any of these, but all seem to have a good reputation.

Re: Chile or Costa Rica
I'd recommend PKH (Mike already linked them) if you were considering Chile. I went on a 2 week trip with them in 2015 and it was excellent.
I'm not sure if January might be a bit late for the rivers around Pucon but they can advise what the best options would be.

In Chile, in January rivers a getting low volume, in Pucon and to the south it's ok though (Futaleufu, San Pedro, etc.)
