Better safe than sorry. Dash cam should reduce s policy as it'll help secure a claim when you're not at fault.
Might the other party's insurer not demand to see the footage if you are (or might be) at fault? Though I suppose one could "accidentally" wipe the card.

They can demand it all they like. Without a court order they can only ask. To be honest I'm the sort of person who, if at fault, will hold my hands up. Hell insurance might be cheaper if everyone was honest and didn't straight about these things.
