It is probably all perfectly legal ..... but why didn't they shoot back? :-D

I remember reading about this when it happened and bizarrely the week after met one of the (quite well known) kayakers involved. He was rather subdued and did not seem in the best of moods to put it mildly. His wife told us all the gory details while he was still in ear shot! Gives a whole new meaning to 'combat rolling'.
