Riverapp abroad - does it show maps?

Post by Poke » Thu Apr 06, 2017 8:46 am

Many people recommend Riverapp alongside/over Rainchasers for UK boating.
I’m off to the Pyrenees (I think) over Easter, and since Riverapp has French/Spanish river levels too, I thought I’d download it.
However, I can’t find a map view of all the rivers on it (something like the map component of this page: http://rainchasers.com/river-levels rather than the table).
The EauxVives site does display the level and location on a map (http://www.eauxvives.org/en/carto/index ... t:rivieres), but it is pretty dire to use on a mobile phone.

Whilst I’m at it, are there any other advantages that Riverapp has over Rainchasers — and are there any other places people are aware of where I can get French/Spanish river data in mobile friendly form?

Thanks in advance!

I think that riverapp has shortcuts to other handy sites in the 'More' section at the bottom, don't know if any of them are any use to you?

Has them on the rivers I've checked (Kent, Sesia, Bonne). It's the Position tab on the appropriate Section. I'm on Android.

I'll fb message you a screenshot as proof

No need. I found them before, they don’t help!

Maybe I should re-phrase the question:

You’re driving south through France and you’re about an hour out from the foothills of the Pyrenees. What river are you going to head to first for some guaranteed (level wise) whitewater.

have you been to la Seu d'Urgell? There is a pretty cool site there used for slalom and if you are passing it would be worth a paddle.

I've used Riverapp a fair bit abroad but you're right it doesnt appear to have an overall map showing levels which is a shame.

http://www.rivermap.ch/ is useful and does have the overview but unfortunately doesn't stretch all the way to the Pyrenees
