UKRGB

I actually can't recall if I've said this here before (or indeed, if anyone else has) but the site is now run/ owned by Mark Gawler, not me. No particularly interesting reason for that other than that I haven't had the time/ energy to do anything with it for years, whereas Mark G has done tons of work on it. Cheers Mark! I'll still lurk around and help where I can, as with the other editors.

I didn't realize there had been a change! Good to see that the site remains in safe hands; seldom post but visit often, thanks for all the excellent work & input.

Thank you for the support. There has been a huge amount of work over the last eighteen months that has seen the site move to a cheaper more flexible hosting platform, improve the funding situation and update the entire software site which runs the site. There are still a few bugs and niggles which require fixing but I hoping to add some useful features to the site this year. One unforeseen side effect of all the upgrade work was Mark handing the site over to me, I didn’t ask for it, but Mark persuaded me I was the best person for the Job.

The River Guides have always been a key component of the site and I am keen to see them brought up to date. We now have Kirsten a.k.a Kizzie_St-As updating the Scotland guides, which is an excellent start, but I am keen to see other areas updated. I if you have a particular guide or area you are able to help with the update of, please contact me.

I had no idea it had changed hands, but appreciated the new spangly format. Thanks to all involved for an amazing resource. It really stacks up as amongst the best paddling sites in the world.

Thanks Mark R
It's been a good ride. I've been through two sets of surgery during your residency that nearly put me out of boating, there were days when a keyboard, one arm and UKRGB were the only thing keeping me sane.
Although slightly sad that your post didn't sign out with 'Discuss'! Best of luck in future projects.

And, Thanks Mark G for keeping the old chap running. Best of luck. Bring on the banter board and smilies! ;-)

As they used to say in that famous add

Work, Rest and UKRGB

I never leave home without consulting it or checking in to share experiences when I am home after a good weekend the water.

I have learnt al lot and met loads of really nice people because of it.

Thanks for all the hard work and keeping it going strong .. your amazing

Many thanks for all the work both of you have put into this incredible resource. As a user (under various names due to lost passwords) from the days where we could download the text content of the guides because there wasn't any internet near rivers I have more than had my money's worth!

I'm looking forward to the surfski section getting up and running...
