could you add a rants and raves section to the forum? there's plenty of politics that isn't relevant to any 1 discipline.

Replied to post and got this:
[phpBB Debug] PHP Warning: in file /var/www/ukrgb/joomla/libraries/joomla/database/driver/mysql.php on line 150: mysql_real_escape_string(): 18 is not a valid MySQL-Link resource

OK, I've had a go at fixing the PHP Warning, but have no way of reliably testing it is fixed, if you are still seeing the warning please let me know.

I'm now seeing this:
" You are here: Home>Community>Community Forums>Whitewater and Touring>A new look UKRGB "
- which I wasn't before, so I'd guess it's fixed.

Maybe the real issue is the lack of understanding "how to" - perhaps a stickie in all the forums is the answer, similar to that noted in the For Sale section in the "Using Private Sales - some useful advice" stickie. Equally, the stickies don't appear in T/talk feeds, unless specifically opened, so with the increasing use of mobile devices to access the forum that may remain an issue for some.

A photo-posting Stickie sounds ideal. Great idea.

Thanks

Searching

Post by Big Henry » Mon Sep 14, 2015 11:09 am

I've just tried to locate a river under the 'Rivers' section, and (sad to say) I didn't know where abouts in the UK it is, so tried to search for it. However, I couldn't find a 'Search' facility on the front page, nor on the 'Rivers' section until I got down to the specific area, by which time I can just scroll down to find it. Am I being blind and missing it, or have you not included it yet?

Dropbox is quite an expensive way to store images. The biggest issue with posting images is I suspect the BBcode that is required. This problem however dose not feature anywhere near the top of my todo list.

There has been an issue with emails sent from the site being blocked by certain ISPs, this was preventing some new registrations and notifications. This should hopeful be resolved.

Great work Mark & Mark, plus others whom tap away in the we hours, thank you.

Does UKRGB licence the content to App developers? Are the up to date river descriptions anywhere? Although the new site is responsive to mobile devices, which is great, OS maps too, nice touch.

Is it just me or are links in forum comments not working?? Using the Artle Beck river guide as an example, all links within the guide are fine, but user comment links don't work for me.

Same for IE and Google Chrome.

At the second attempt the forum software has now been updated to phpBB 3.1, but you probably noticed that. Hopefully there are not too many gremlins lurking in the background, if you find any issues please post here.

Thanks, Mark,

I see the same error as previous updates which I post below with the fix, as others may see it too:

[phpBB Debug] PHP Warning: in file /var/www/ukrgb/joomla/libraries/joomla/database/driver/mysql.php on line 150: mysql_real_escape_string(): 18 is not a valid MySQL-Link resource

it's easily fixed by logging out and then logging back in using the site login (in the blue bar, top left) which logs me into the forum as well, with no error.

The forum posts appear to be missing from the bottom of river guides now... is this intentional or broken?

I break it when I click the "Whitewater and Touring" link in the forum heirarchy.

There's an error finding the error message - or words similar to that.

"Error displaying the error page: Application Instantiation Error: Could not connect to MySQL."

There you go.

The error message you are seeing has got stuck in you browser cache flowing a site outage yesterday. The fault has now been rectified.

You can try, hitting reload in the browser [F5] and/or clearing you web browsers history for the last 24 / 48 hours which should resolve the issue. I that doesn't work it is most likely your ISP that is caching the error page, it will clear eventually.

A temporary workaround is to use this link:

http://www.ukriversguidebook.co.uk/foru ... iew/plugin

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Do we have any Mac Users who use Safari?

It has been reported by one user that this site dose not work with Safari 9.0.3, but I can see other users are using Safari. Can anyone confirm that the site works with Safari 9.0.3.

Dose anyone know how I can test with Safari 9.0.3 without owning a Mac?

Thank you
Mark Gawler
