Hi, I'm new

Post by PietjeVM »

I'm 16 years old, I bought a kayak (mi 450) yesterday, it's my first kayak although I have done it a few times already.
Its also my first time on these forums, so if you have some tips ore hints for me on these forums or on kayak, I could really use them.
I have also this problem that I'm not old enough to drive by myself and I live in Hasselt (Belgium) and the closest river is a 20-minute drive away. :(

Join a club for instruction and the social side of the game. Don't paddle alone. Have fun.

Are you aiming to do flat water touring or white water?

The MI450 is a pretty long touring type boat which should suit most Belgian rivers quite well, but wouldn't be suitable on white water.

I wonder if Jan (Jakke) uses this forum (can definitely find him on 'Song of the paddle'), he would have a pretty good idea about the Belgian club scene.
