Old School Images

Post by Blobby » Tue Mar 04, 2014 9:43 am

Hey guys,

I have a presentation to do for my Uni course and am doing it on the development of ww kayaking. I am looking for some specific images of a pinned old school boat such as a Mirage or Dancer and also one of something knarly being run in a Rotobat, like the one of Alan Fox on the cover of the old guidebook, Run River Run I think it was called.

I know that there are a few old school boaters on here such as myself but I was always too gripped to take pictures.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Cheers

Andy

Late 80s - early 90s Rotobat eh?

…early Plym action [Blimey that was low…]

Image

Mawdach action…

Image

Elive - about to get pinned in the 'usual' place…

Image

Gyr/Gyronde [the bit where the meet]

Image

…and some Dancer action from mid 80s on the Kent in flood. Who says you can't play boat in a Dancer?

Image

[EDIT: just looking at those again… every pic I am just sitting there with paddles across my lap.]

mmmm rotobat action

somewhere in norway, too long ago
dodgy paint job, silly helmet, schlegel paddles, massive buoyancy aid - ace

I like the bit where they are scouting the river from the roof of the car :-)

Not sure this will count? Think its a creek 280 rather than a Rotobat. Circa 2012.

Thanks for the images guys they are great!

I'm good thanks Grumpy, think you were too busy making sure that me and Tot didn't die! Am doing a degree in adventure tourism management as well as still running my business, get in touch if you find yourself in Spean Bridge.

Never had a Rotobat. Can do you images of someone doing Dogleg on the Upper Tees in a 1996 Pirouette (yesterday, before I broke it:-)

More to come when I've repaired it ;-)
