"Honest" club trip video

Post by andypagett »

The usual gnarrrr aside, here is something a little closer to home, or at least once familiar to many of us. This is a humorous look at a club trip to the Tryweryn this weekend.

Rum and coke, best served by the pint.

Plenty of fight in the guy side surfing in the stopper, love the video and lots of stuff to learn from it.

At last, a video that I can relate to! my kind of paddling.

Straight from the John Smiths school of kayaking.

I grinned all the way through it

A fine reminder to all that the 'best' kayakers are the ones that have the most fun, not the ones that paddle the hardest grades.

He who smiles most wins.

Loved it reminds me of the not so seroius days, te swimmers didn't seem to help them selfs much (no offence) but maybe a club wwsr course could be aranged.

They are good fun and as a group you may learn alot from them resulting in swims not being as long.

But looked like a great fun day out.

That's precisely what I love about kayaking. I think quite often the very serious creeking life or death aspect gets most of the limelight. Simply having a laugh gets lost in the noise.

Wow, thanks guys! Didn't think a few guys swimming the T would get such a good response!

Indeed, he's a really strong paddler, just having a bit of trouble getting used to the lack of edges on his new boat! :)

Definitely... I'm looking to arrange one this year for some of us (though the guy wearing the camera, who also swam, has already done WWSR, and has had more than enough swimming practice!!!!!)

Hi folks,

If you enjoyed this video the first time around..... I've entered it into a competition, but Vimeo is not allowed... I'd therefore be most grateful if you could watch / share the hell out of the YouTube version....

Here it is again:

Happy swimming :)

Andy,

Fantastic fun to watch, the sheer ineptitude shown trying to retrieve the boats and swimmers just goes to remind me of just how much fun we had when we began paddling and how we still laugh at each other now when someone swims or does something stupid and comes a cropper.

Class video, I just loved it… Can you tell us if there will be any further episodes in the future please, I do hope so, hahaha..

Thanks guys :) Feedback much appreciated.

Neptune - hopefully there won't be any further episodes, sadly (although the follow up did feature me doing part of the graveyard section upside down, before eventually swimming it, due to having got my paddle stuck between two rocks....)
