So, he did the same move three times on the wave, great, does he not have any new tricks he could have put into his 2013 advert? Without the drops mixed in with the playboating I could have been this bored watching the endless HPP looping videos on youtube.

Just rewatched this just to make sure I wasn't being harsh before posting, nope.

Agree. The sport isn't really progressing as much as they say it is. Where is a double loop? Or a fully airborne back loop?
Playboating is in danger (already has in my eyes) of becoming samey like snowboarding films have (except valhalla which is pretty cool!

NSFW (tongue in cheek tho)

Amazed how they did this.

And there we have it, the difference between men and women, nothing to do with mars and venus, just that women look more impressive the colder they get, men very much the opposite.

Why is this samey? It is purely the progression of one person every year better than the last.

Is that not an attempt at a double airscrew?

That lad shows promise, give him a few years, an' I reckon he'll be a half-decent boater.

I didn't say he was samey, I said kayak vids are all becoming very similar. Nothing new is happening whether that be new tricks or a new concept.

Haters gonna hate. You don't kayak to make videos or invent new tricks because a video would be lame without it. What Dane is doing with his paddling is nothing sort of amazing.

People havn't accused the 100m sprint in the olympics being repetitive yet, they havn't started making the runners carry items shop lifted from a shop or insit they get chased by an angry mob to make it more entertaining or realistic to the real world so people can relate to it. people simply watch it to see what others are able to achieve and get inspired, freestyle is developing growing and expanding, yes some people may see it as repetitive but in my eyes football is far more repetitive and that for some reason has millions of people who feel the need to watch it! Every season some people get paid some money to run about and kick a ball and at the end they win a cup... its entirely personal taste.

What dane is doing is incredible, if you showed the video to boaters even 5-10 years ago they would probably laugh and ask how the strings were tied onto and how that would work! as kayakers do have certain physical factors limiting boaters that we need to bare in mind like gravity that stops the double loops and similar but big wave moves are defiantly developing as we see double airscrews and much bigger bolder combi moves.

Cracking video but at the moment still prefer last years highlight video. Just feel the footage is of a better quality and it flows a little smoother.

+1

Although it could be argued that that's exactly why DJ paddles. Certainly to a degree as a part of the Jackson promotional machine. And it's working. It wasn't so long ago that as a creeking brand they were seen as pretty lame. Now, they are heading towards the cooler end of the spectrum. Although it doesn't matter how slick Dane's paddling is, while they have that stooopid smiley logo they will always have a health dollop of 'naff' holding them back.
