Nene ww course

Post by carlalvey » Sat May 18, 2013 9:57 pm

I'm looking to visit the nene course soon. Iv only seen pics on the net but my question is.
Is it as it looks. ie. a course equal to the back channels at hpp???
Cheers
What grade would it be classed as. Compared to hpp

Can't compare it to HPP, but I suspect it is considerably smaller. It is a fun course, compared to Lee Valley Legacy it is fairly easy, but narrow. Around grade 2 mainly with one G3 drop

It is nowhere near the size of HPP and with nowhere near the difficulty. The flow through Nene is a lot less than both HPP and Lee Valley, with the grade 3 drop on it being very difficult to muck up as it has a chute going to it. If you want to play around on the flow from the drop then you could be in for an unpleasant time as it can be quite sticky. It is a nice little course though and a good little day out.

p.s. I would call hpp a grade 3 with some high end 3/low 4 sections

I took a bunch of kids there today. For many it was their first trip on white water and they all managed the big drop. Great introductory spot.
Grade 2
