Buck we stayed at Bala Bunkhouse and it was great, Stella is exacting but with a bit of dry humour she lightens up dead easy, full use of fantastic kitchen facilities, Stella made us evening meals for a small extra which was really nice.
1 down side...we did have Mik's snoring to put up with!

Rhydydefaid Farm at Frongoch was great, we had a double ensuite and son Alex was in a single which shared a bathroom with another double. Very handy for the T, but a drive into Bala for evening meals!

Fairhaven Guest House in Bewts-y-Coed is worth the few extra miles. Lovely, quite luxurious and reasonably priced.
A much better choice than scruffy old Bala :-)
Turtleback. We'll take you there

This place is in llangollen, but is very nice if you fancy something better than a normal bunkhouse. Had a weekend there when all the snow was in wales, and I've got to say I am wondering if I should start all kayaking trips in a hotel :D

I stayed here just recently - can't recommend it highly enough! http://www.balarafting.co.uk/ Just a few hundred meters from the Tryweryn at Frongoch.

The Bryn Tegid just outside Bala is extremely pleasant if you're after a bit more comfort than the average b and b. As people are pointing out, there are quite a few good options in the area. The CT website has a good list of many accomodation providers. Well worth a look.
