Ribo waterfall
heading to Val Sesia at the end of the May, I was looking at the Ribo waterfall/river. Is there a gauge on the Ribo river or nearby that would give us an idea of if it is running/level?
Re: Ribo waterfall
This site https://www.eauxvives.org/en/niveaux/en-direct/view/682 implies that there is a gauge, but it's not delivered a reading for about a year.
Even then, looking at the name of the gauge (Lavertezzo) and comparing it to the location of Lavertezzo on a map, I'm not sure whether or not it was inferred from the level of another river?
Either way, end of May should be a good time to catch it. There should be enough other boaters around to give you some good beta on it. Assuming the campsite on the island at Campertogno is still going, a few days hanging out and paddling local to there and you're sure to bump into other boaters and find out whether its worth the drive over to the Ribo.

Current status of Il Gatto e la Volpe and Ca del Cros
Alberto has sold the campsite and restaurant to the crew that owns Eddyline, and they are appearing to do a pretty good job of continuing to run it well as far as I can see. We stayed in June '22, and had zero issues, and we will be staying here again.
The last that I have heard, is that Alberto is holding on to the Ca del Cros chalet) and has a working arrangement with the campsite for the Breakfast part of B&B. We availed of a room here in the off-season around Halowe'en '21 and thoroughly enjoyed it, even though we knew there were no restaurants open in the valley at this stage. It was odd seeing the closed campsite after having camped here on and off since the summer of 2000.
