Tom Sanaghan and I did the WofL today from Currie down to the Sainsbury's car park in Slateford. Thought it was very good, will certainly do it again. River level was bottom end of high, def. not in spate. Would give it grade 3, but serious with 11? weirs 3 of them probably 3 metres high (We did all the weirs except the first one). Many of the weirs are so broken they are more like steep rapids. The river is continuous especially around Colinton, and in some places narrow with over-hanging trees. Would start from Baleron next time. Was a bit like a narrower steeper middle Doon.Would be a real scrape with the water any lower than today's level.
