River Ettrick hydro plans

Post by Notters » Fri Jul 22, 2011 10:45 pm

Hydro scheme on the river Ettrick, at first I thought bad news but its going to be an Archimedes screw turbine fitted to the soon to be repaired murrays cauld nr Selkirk. This 165yr old weir was badly damaged around 5yrs ago in a big flood and has been a dangerous horizon line since.

If only they could build a play wave at the bottom!!!

If you want a bit of fun go to here: http://www.farsondigitalwatercams.com/l ... lliphaugh/

and watch Rodger's hilarious attempts to start the preliminary work ! At this rate there isnt going to be a cauld let alone a hydropower scheme.
