Douglas post hydro

Post by Peter Brown » Sun Jul 04, 2010 7:26 pm

Did this this morning. Put in below new dam. This is just above the first rapid I remember from my only other run down it. The river was bank full right below the dam, either because of the mega rain or because the hydro was taking no/little out. No wood or man-made stuff in river. So still a quality Alpine blast 30 mins from Glasgow, with a tasty grade 6 to finish off if you fancy.

I wouldn't recommend paddling the hydro dam to anyone. A lot of metal and sharp granite about

Mirrors my experience on Garaidh Gualach in Glen Garry, where the installation has not spoiled an excellent river.
All good, everyone wins!! :-)
A/WWSR 4/5star (river & sea) with the best!
