Tree- River Garry, Lower Section

Post by Crowella » Mon May 10, 2010 1:32 pm

Ran the whole of the Garry yesterday. There are 3 nasty trees just before the get out of the lower section (under the road bridge).
One is right in the middle of the river on the last rapid, right across the normal line. Very difficult to see from the river, luckily we had got out to inspect as it had been so long since we ran this rapid.
Just after this last drop there are two more trees causing river wide strainers - plenty of room after the last rapid to get a swimmer in before then, but only if you're prepared.

Saw this from car the other day as I was heading home from Moriston.
I'll check it out this week and see if it can be shifted at low water.
