RIVER DEVERON

Post by AndyY » Mon Oct 05, 2009 3:57 pm

Hi all

It appears that the Deveron is no impassable at the third drop just below the bridge in Huntly.

The local fishermen have installed a walkway type bridge to cross the river and this completely blocks the river. You must now portage!

Please be carefull in higher water as it is not clear how this is going to look when the water is bigger, it might well be hidden and potentially very dangerous!

I should think SEPA would have something to say about that? Might be worth reporting it.

And isn't the Deveron in the council's core path plan?

It should be.

The bridge has now been removed - thanks to the active work of Aberdeenshire Council planning personnel and the immediate co-operation of the local landowner - who was not aware of the effects on anyone else.
