Grywnne Fawr lower section tree blockage 18/03/18

Post by ajames456 » Sun Mar 18, 2018 9:28 am

Grwynne Fawr. paddled the lower section on friday pm (at 0.55 ea guage) there are two very big mature trees in the river, absolutely no way through. Grid ref: SO 238 187. If getting on at Cwm Bridge, after about 1km, it is worth getting out at the bridge to portage (or to check it out), there is a footpath on river left.

I paddled this section with Andrew and in high flows it's difficult to see the trees until you're nearly on them. Shows you can never switch off on moving water, even at the easy grades. Thankfully easy to portage on either side.
