I've seen various posts suggesting that the launch point at Lower Lydbrook is closed, although others still suggest it is available. Does anyone know the current situation please?

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this, but there is a tree down in the rapid just above Lower Lydbrook; it's in the channel to the right of the island and is potentially forming a nasty strainer by the right bank. At the level this weekend (around 0.50 at Ross) , most of the trunk was just under the surface. It was causing problems to some (less experienced) paddlers including a family with two youngish children who managed to get tangled up in it and needed the assistance of other paddlers to reunite them with their hire boat and many floating possessions!
