Tree on the Glaslyn

Post by keithrturner » Mon Mar 02, 2015 4:22 pm

Interesting paddle on the upper section of the Glaslyn on Sunday 1st March - A dead tree was leaning right across the river and hung up in another tree. There was a gap enough to sneak through hard left, a couple of guys passed through then we heard a crack, another crack and the tree dropped completely into the river about 10ft in front of another paddler - We heard it going so everyone was stopped luckily.

But obviously there is now a tree completely across the river, not passable. It's on the section between the lake a Beddgelert.

Be careful out there....!

Paddled it again on 29th March 2015 (EA gauge 0.87 ~ 2" above the green tick). The tree has moved & is resting on river right bank.
