Surprised the river rose so much, it not having rained properly for months. Anyone paddle yesterday? Any grief? Anyone planning to go later in the week? Wednesday is looking good, if the forecast is right.

Over 20mm is enough to get the Dart over the ledge in the summer, yesterday Dartcom recorded about 40mm...

Tomorrow's promised rain now looks a bit patchy, but may help to maintain base flows for the next band, due to bring significant rain on Friday. Some nice warm summer paddling may be on for the weekend...

There is minimal base flow at present, so it will require plenty more rain for the rivers to run - Fri eve should go & probably Monday.

Dart And tavy have barely risen at all and rain seems to be easing off now. On the radar it looks like the bulk of the rainfall was south of us.

Erme dropping overnight, other Dartmoor rivers don't seem to have come up enough.

Two trees down on the dart...
1st at the end of the rapid before Pandora's easily passed on river left.
2nd on the final drop of the run out, normally a boof on the left channel. Pretty much have to run the right channel now...

Much lower totals at Plymouth & Haytor suggest Dartcom may be wind assisted - check EA gauges in morning - at present West dart only shows a small peak before 8.30pm.

Dart has hardly come up, but looks like Erme Gorge is scrapeable.

Was on edge of ledge when I left at 3pm, had been a couple of inches higher when it peaked (half way across ledge).

Paddled the loop today and there were a couple videoing & photographing everyone from the bank a few minutes from new bridge. Looked like they were doing it with a purpose in mind other than capturing my handsome self. Anyone else experienced them?

I wouldnt worry about it, I videoed the playwave last wk on the tuesday and put it on th FB group, if u paddle u run the risk of the Rangers, i dont think they mind in high levels, but Ive got throwm off before.
