wnig in to the actual source which makes the trip about twice as long and has some steep gradient up top

yeah of course! couple of times...has to be hooning down and relatively early in the hooning, when the lower reaches are not yet that massive. the steep rapid below your described get on is pretty sweet at that level too.

I did this with Steve Whetman, Paul Ross and a couple of others a few years ago from GR544880 after a hike up from the bridleway at Southerly. Probably couldn't run form much further up as it was only about 3 ft wide at that point, but channeled well so plenty deep enough.

Quite fun, one notable rocky fall but apart from that mostly just fast, narrow and a bit tree ridden at the end.

Good fun, but i'm not sure i'd do it again considering the hike was pretty boggy and the boating over quite quick.

think darryl's pie eating persona is tapping away at the keyboard
obviously it all personal taste and all that but the trip is actually quite long i thought and the walk wasn't bad at all. on the other hand if you will buy a jefe that weighs 45kg then what do oyu expect buut tired legs?
