Hampshire/Dorset advice?

Post by Fogey99 » Tue Jul 09, 2013 12:11 pm

Looking to take a complete beginner river paddling in the Christchurch area in a couple of weeks time. Thinking of Sturminster Newton to Blandford, Blandford to Spetisbury (Stour), or perhaps Lymington River - Brockenhurst to Lymington. Can't find anything recent in the Guides. I'd welcome any more up-to-date info on these ... or any other suggestions within an hour-or-so drive?

Blandford to Spetisbury is doa able at this time of year, but the path will be blocked by weeds and thick green algi.

It'll be "fun" when your novice looks back at it.

Thanks Mikers.... might try it this weekend, but sounds like it will be hard work. I don't want to put him (or myself) off kayaking forever. :) Thanks again for the advice, Tom

Lymington River will be too low.
