Just below the weir in Ivybridge are the salmon spawning redds, be careful at low water from October to February.

Probably better to start from the sports fields just below the A38 (by the slip road) - this would be a classic, if it weren't for the sewage works. There are 3 tree portages in first half mile or so, but all obvious from the water. It is possible to take out river right at Keaton Bridge, but lack of parking means it's much better to carry on to Ermington. 0.6 on gauge needed for it not to be a scrape.
