Another run in with a fishing club warden

Post by damppaddler » Wed Dec 26, 2012 5:19 pm

3 of us paddled a local river today - it runs along the side of a road
Half way down we had a rather angry warden from the local fishing club stop on the road and start shouting at us to get out.

He said he was going to call the police, which we suggested he does just that.

During his ranting he drove up and down the road chasing us and almost run over a few pedestrians (single lane road with no footpath). One of the pedestrians went and had a word with him and that didn't seem to calm him down.

Does anyone want to contribute to a fund to buy my local fishing club a banjo for next Christmas? Will they understand the joke?

You should have got his licence plate stopped on the opposite bank called the police about someone driving erratically and endangering pedestrians. Then continued to paddle really slowly and wait for them to show up.

The more paddling days on that bit the better, lovely run which we should not be bullied off.

Worth reporting this incident here.

Just find the section of river, click on it and you'll get the option to report an incident.
