Hi there,

Best to paddle in Matlock Bath from Artist's Corner carpark to the bottom of the slalom course. This section contains the best bits the river has to offer and you can easily do laps on it.

Be careful with the weir towards Belper as at high levels it could turn into a lethal beast.
People paddle at the slalom course regularly on Wednesday and Thursday night so go and socialise.
I go there occassionally for the odd roll session, feel free to drop me a message and we'll arrange something
Turtleback. We'll take you there

Thanks for that I have had a good look at the wire works weir not very pleasant we portage around it the one at whatstandwell is ok if you run it at the sides, went on Sunday and as we drove over the bridge there was a inflatable canoe in the back toe, we stopped to see if anyone needed help but couldn't find anyone there was a pump on the wall of the wier I assume someone had tried to launch there.

Thanks sam
