Lower Rawthey Tree Hazard

Post by Mike M » Tue Jan 20, 2015 10:32 am

Whilst out walking the dog noticed a tree has fallen and blocked the entire river. Location is approx 500 metres after you have gone under the road bridge (to Dent) on a ninety degree left hand bend. The tree is across the entire river with the trunk blocking the normal right hand side line.Branches extend all the way over to the shingle bed on the left. When the levels drop we'll see if we can take out the branches on the left hand side (trunk on the right is quite large and in a tricky spot)

An update on my post in January. The tree mentioned above has gone, but after last weeks rain a new one has appeared in the same place and is blocking the river in its entirety.Loads of foliage on it and i suspect is going to be tricky to move.Definite portage at all levels.
