HELP Accommodation for large Uni group in South Lakes needed

Post by hannjj » Fri Jul 12, 2013 6:38 pm

Hiya,

Our usual accommodation for the annual Fresher's Trip has been all fully booked for October, so we are really in need of somewhere to stay for the weekend 4th/5th/6th October for about 30 ish people.

It needs to be cheap (students!),close to the Crake/Rothay/Brathay, so South/East Lakes preferably, with a kitchen. Beds aren't necessary as we normally sleep on the floor with sleeping bags etc anyway. It also needs enough space for us to sit around/ entertain ourselves in the evenings.

We'd be forever in your debt!!

Please contact me if you've got any suggestions at all. :)

Hannah.

Is your normal accommodation Spark Bridge village hall? If not that would be the winner!
Done any NE/NW rivers not on the site? PM me!

Have you thought about trying the yha in Ambleside , there my be several campsites in the nearby area.

I run the University of Cumbria Paddle club and if you fancy meeting up for some rivers on those days give me a shout :)

Most of our paddlers will be based in ambleside you see.

We normally use Malt Kiln hall, but have sorted out a scout hut previously stayed in, in Barrow-in-Furness. We've gone through the whole list, seems like it's a popular weekend! But we're sorted now thanks! :)

We'll be with our freshers so not really doing much, Coniston and the Crake on the saturday and then Rothay or Brathay on Sunday.

Not sure what they would say is the capacity but there is the Pavillion in Staveley.
