first descents

Post by topo.tim » Sun Apr 21, 2013 9:11 pm

Hi there,
just wondering if anyones made any interesting first descents in the north west recently? may be making a film in the following few months about the kayaking scene in the north west and am interested to see how much pioneering there is going on.
Cheers,
Tim

Depends on how recent you want to be. In the last 10 years since the first edition of White Water Lake District and the recent update, Canoe & Kayak Guide to North West England, the following rivers have had first descents as far as can be established.
Aira Beck 2008
Blaze Beck 2009
Croglin water Falls around 2005/6, Upper river possibly not until 2012.
Dean's Brook
Deepdale Beck 2012
Grains Gill 2005
Greenburn Beck 2005
Hayeswater Gill 2008
Kirkstone Beck
Mill Gill 2007
Raven Beck Falls around 2009. whole river 2012
Spodden
Thornsgill Beck 2010
Watendlath Beck 2008
