2017 West Wales Sea Kayak Meet

Post by Mike Mayberry » Thu Feb 09, 2017 12:51 pm

Good afternoon all,

This year is another bi-annual West Wales Sea Kayak Meet, the fourth. It's happening on 2nd - 4th June.

You know it works by now. £35 each into the pot, £5 of which will pay for your tent pitch and facilities at the Phoenix Centre; the rest of which will be split equally between the RNLI and the Wales Air Ambulance.

If you don't bring a tent it isn't cheaper, it's just more for the two charities. Incidentally, the Phoenix Centre is a charity too so as long as you tick the box properly when you send your payment via http://www.paypal.com to westwalesseakayakmeet@hotmail.co.uk (ie. 'sending to friends and family', not 'payment for goods or services') then you can sleep easy knowing that you have given 100% of your cash to good causes. Otherwise, well done you, you gave £1.39 per person to Paypal.

If you don't have a Paypal account then you can pay via credit or debit card by following the instructions here. If you choose this option then Paypal will charge £1.39 from the £35. I don't believe there is a way to avoid this anymore.

In either case please add the names of the people to the message box that you are booking for when you send payment.

If you don't trust Paypal or you think the fairies are going to take your money when you use it then please don't ask me for another method. I will say this again; Paypal is the only way you can pay for this event. This is so that we keep the money completely separate from our business. If you ask me for another way to pay you won't get a response. Sorry if it's you who asks but I can't be any clearer.

Paypal no longer include your email when they send notification of payment. I could go looking for it in Paypal in order to send you an email but this will be very time consuming so I'll post names on this thread instead. It may not be immediately as I have a business to run and no one gets paid for running this event.

For more information on the WWSKM have a look here.

Not sure about coming? Click to read Jimski's or Stuart's blog about previous meets.

There are 11 places already filled which leaves 89 places available. All I did was set a date on the Facebook group here, no promotion, and these places filled. This should let you know how popular this event is.

I think that covers everything but please ask if there's something I've forgotten. People who have sent payment so far are;

Adam Sanders
Kay Cokeley
Paul Cokeley
Steve Lawes
David Elkington
Tavi Murray
Andy Maclean
Adam Livett
Sean Hurrell
Justin Phillips
Mike Mayberry

If you are able to help with guiding then please let me know.

Thank you for helping to make the West Wales Sea Kayak Meets what they are.
